Mr. Liu Wenqing is a researcher and currently serves as the director of the Academic Committee of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science and the academic director of the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, both under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Concurrently, he is the vice chairman of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the Chinese Optical Society, and the China Instrument and Control Society.
Mr. Liu is mainly engaged in the research of environmental monitoring technology and its application, and has developed new methods of environmental optical monitoring, along with a series of industrialized environmental monitoring technologies and equipment. He has integrated the comprehensive air pollution monitoring system and conducted its application demonstration, as well as opened up a new field of environmental optics technology in China. He won 3 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2007, 2011, and 2015 respectively and 5 first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. In 2012, he won the Major Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of Anhui Province. In 2016, he won the Science and Technology Progress Award of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation. In 2020, he was awarded the title of “National Advanced Worker”. In 2013, he was elected as an academician of the Department of Environmental and Textile Engineering, Chinese Academy of Engineering.
